African Women

Here is the wall hanging with a 1/12th scale "riempie" bench made for me quite a while ago by a special man who has since passed away. The pile of books were made in a class given by Barbara Brear.

African Women Wall Hanging

I was commissioned to make this panel for a 1/20th scale house, it had to cover the wall from floor to ceiling. I decided to use 32 count linen as this would give a woolen effect as the original was a woven hanging. It measures 120mm x 80mm and has a total of 16224 stitches and took me +-26hours to embroider. As it is quite large for 1/20th scale it will fit perfectly in a 1/12th dolls' house.

Bedroom in 1/20th House

This is the bedroom in Henry's house which will house the wall hanging. It fits in beautifully and also covers the wall floor to ceiling.

Full Scale Bedroom Wall Hanging

This is the actual wall hanging which I copied for Henry Le Roux who is building a replica of his house in 1/20th scale. Note it covers the whole bedroom wall from floor to ceiling.

A Medieval Ship Panel - Design by Sandra Whitehead

I have embroidered this ship on a 32 count evenweave fabric with DMC threads. It took little over two weeks to embroider, working for about 3 hours a day. There are a total of 8514 stitches. It would look stunning in any Tudor setting or a gent's study. Sandra writes that this panel depicts a 15th Century design adapted from an earthenware bowl.
